The XR-X (europe) and XR-M (U.S.) are the same camera. These cameras were introduced in 1987, and sold until sometime in the mid '90s. You can get a faxed copy of the XR-M/XR-X user's manual via Ricoh's FAX-BACK service - go to http://www.ricoh.com to find out how to use their FAX-BACK service.

Hello!

Hit the Pentax web site. They have a 1-800 number you can call to get manuals for your new/old pentax camera. They send you the manual, and ask you to send back 2.00 to them to cover printing/shipping costs.

That's how I got the manual for my K1000.........

There are three folks who seem to have a lot of manuals available:

Give them a try.

Hope this helps.

You can order photocopied or original Nikon camera, lens and accessory manuals (used, but good condition) or manuals for other camera makes from John Craig, P.O. Box 1637, Torrington, Connecticut 06790, USA. Email: john@craigcamera.com Website: www.craigcamera.com Phone: (860) 496-9791 Fax: (860) 496-0664

I ordered a manual for my Nikon EL2. I paid with a Visa card and it cost 20 dollars US (photocopies are cheaper) and 2 dollars shipping and handling. The manual was obviously used but in very good condition.

I'd recommend this as a good source for hard to find manuals and repair manuals. He has literally thousands and thousands listed in his catalog.

The best joke are all the Olympus operating manuals that sell on eBay. You can call Olympus America for free at 800-221-3000, tell them you're an end-user with Olympus equipment that lacks a manual, and they'll send you one for free!

Ditto here with Hasselblad literature. People (Pittsburgh Camera especially) put the Hasselblad theme brochures starting at $12+, when one can buy them for $4-$6 from John Craig. People even auction off current FREE literature!

I think you can still order an owner's manual from Minolta USA via their Web site:

http://www.minoltausa.com

Failing that, you could probably get by with operating instructions for any other SRT: 100, 101, 102, 201, 202, SRT-mc, SRT Super, etc. All are essentially the same chassis and operate the same way, differing only in specific features such as top shutter speed, presence/absence of mirror lockup, presence/absence of apertures visible in finder, etc.

Brian,

I've been using an ETRS for several months now, and while I'm not a Bronica expert I do know how to use this particular model and really love it so far. FWIW, I also got mine used... came from a local camera shop with body, WL finder, 75mm f/2.8 lens and 120 film back, all in excellent condition for $750. I've since added several more backs, prism finder (not metered, but hope to get an AE-II finder soon), and 150mm f/3.5 lens.

The manual is available from Tamron/Bronica by calling (516) 694-8700. I bought one from them about a month ago for $8.00 and it arrived in about 10 days from the call. At first it looks like an original manual but closer inspection shows it to be an excellent photocopy. It's even bound the same as the original!

Subject: Re: Which Minolta lens?
Date: Thu, 14 Oct 1999

Naydine, The X-700 can take either Minolta MC or MD mount manual focus lenses. The MD lenses were originally designed to support the shutter priority exposure control on the XD series. They are also needed to use the program exposure mode on the X700. There is an extra cam on the lens that tells the camera when the lens is locked down to the smallest aperture. The older MC lenses don't have the extra cam and can only be used in aperture priority or manual exposure control. The oldest MD lenses have a Rokkor-X designation and may not have the little tab that locks the lens at it's smallest aperture. The newer ones just say Minolta MD.

For a manual, go to the www.minoltausa.com, Support, Contact Us, and click on instruction manuals on the bottom of the page. A new X-700 manual will run you $5 including shipping.

I just bought a used Gossen Luna-Pro F. ($150) It meters reflected and incident light, and flash. It also accepts several Gossen accessories, like a multi-angle adapter, fiber optic probe, etc. The meter is a null-reading type, which is very easy and convenient to use. It features a Zone System scale, too. Runs on a common 9-volt battery. Gossen sent me a reprint of the manual for $2.00.

I really like the meter, and I'm glad I finally bought one. Very enlightening, so to speak. Highly recommended.

Good shooting,

Subject: [PentaxMF] Re: Manuals on line?

Hey Guy,

Don't know of any online, but if you're in the U.S., this is straight from Pentax's site,

"If you would like to order an instructional manual for a PENTAX Product, please call our Literature Department at (800) 729-1419 ext. 307. We are able to provide (via US Mail) manuals for all current, and most non-current products. There is a $4 charge for each instructional manual to cover shipping and handling. This service is available for United States residents only."

Don't know if you're in the US, but I've ordered quite a few manuals from them over time. They'll promptly send you originals if possible, or copies if originals are not available. Sure beats what they go for on eBay and such... If you find anything online please let me know.

Cheers,

Ken

Hi

The Zenit B is as others pointed out a Zenit E without the lightmeter. Lenses are preset and manual and very cheap :-)

A manual is online at http://www.tomtiger.net located under cameras -- Zenit articles and projects -- Photosniper manual

It's a manual for the Photosniper/Zenit-E but it is very usuable for a Zenit-B or Zenit-3M

Hope this helps... Tom

This manual has been so popular that I have decided to place it on-line. If you go to:

http://users.senet.com.au/~rurmonas
(some browsers seem to need the full address:

http://users.senet.com.au/~rurmonas/index.html)

This is a crude home page I have put together. There is a link from there to the manual. Total download is 2.3 Mbyte. The pages are saved individually. They are scanned at 300 dpi and the JPEG compression while high is still not outragoeusly high, so the quality should be quite good.

Enjoy.

If you have a grafmatic back for your 4x5 or 2x3 camera and have always wanted a manual, or indeed not known how to get it working, you can download a scan of the original now from

http://www.pinkheadedbug.com//downloads/grafmatic.pdf

It's about 3.6 Mb unfortunately, but that's because i wanted you to have all the detail in the line drawings. As you can see it's in PDF format so you might need the acrobat reader to open it.

I am crossposting this to the LUG and Streetphoto cos I know there a quite a few folks on these lists too using these wonderful bits of kit.

If you don't know WHAT a grafmatic back is, it's a six-sheet cut film magazine which fits onto a graflok back and allows you to make six sheet film exposures in about 30 seconds. They are one of the most ingenious mechanical devices ever made IMO.

The 200,201,202s are more fully featured than the 101. It will be obvious which features you don't have. Cheers Frank

The short answer is that the rights, obligations, and assets of Carl Zeiss Jena VEB passed to control of the Zeiss Foundation in 1991, though the State of Thuringia has some legal interest, as well. So, check with the Carl Zeiss Museum for permission. However, I doubt if anyone would object. We scan and pass these documents around and have been doing so with the knowledge of Zeiss.
