for the complete Angel Season Two table
Angel continued the
success he set up in the first season, and although both his score and Gold episode
wins were down on the previous year, he still held a victory margin of 634 lines. Overall
Angel won
14 Golds (Judgement(106), Are You Now or
Have You Ever Been(67), Untouched(99), Dear Boy(67), The Shroud of
Rahmon(72), The Trial(100), Reunion(71), Blood Money(68), Reprise(68), Epipheny(86), Dead Ends(76), Belonging(79), Over the
Rainbow(85), and There's No
Place Like Plrtz Glrb(65)), 3 Silvers and 4 Bronze. However he
completely missed out on a medal Redefinition, and scored
only 7 lines. This low
score was not however as a result of Angel being ignored by the writers, but caused by
some serious alone time, resulting in voiceovers as the only source of lines,
unsurprisingly its his lowest score of the series, though still higher than
quite a few Buffy episodes.
Wes, improved on
last years performance, not only in medals and lines, but also in placement.
Finishing 3 lines ahead of Cordy to take second (Too close to say with
certainty that Wes was actually higher). Wes also picked up
his first Gold medal with Guise Will Be Guise(88) and went on
to pick up another two (Redefinition(49) and Through the
Looking Glass(54)) as well as 3 Silver Medals (Shroud of Rahmon(61), Reprise(26), and Epiphany(64)) and 3 bronze
medals. Guise Will Be Guise also provided Wes’s highest score
of the season, and in fact the series so far (here’s hoping Wes improves this
score). Wes’s lowest from The Trial(19).
Cordy had picked up
2 Gold medals on Buffy The Vampire
Slayer, but had failed to do the same in the first season of Angel. That Changed
with First Impressions(91), and again with Disharmony(106). Cordy also picked up
5 Silver Medals (Judgement(46), Dear Boy(54), Redefinition(36), Through the
Looking Glass(44), and There's No
Place Like Plrtz Glrb(57)), down three on last year, and four bronze
medals, down 1 on last season. Cordy’s lowest scoring
episode came with Blood Money(14). Overall Cordy dropped one
place on last year, and her total number of lines by a mere 19 (negligible).
Gunn, improved greatly
on last seasons 10th, to finish 4th. Along the way picking up his first Gold
for The
Thin Dead Line(72), and his second silver for First
Impressions(86) which he narrowly lost out on too Cordy, as well as
two bronze medals(The Shroud of Rahmon(39) and Epiphany(39)). First
Impressions(86) was he’s highest scoring episode of the
season, and he’s lowest came from Are You Now Or Have You Ever Been(3). Gunn Finished the
season with 588 lines and an average of 26.72 lines/episode,
which was slightly up on Gunn’s average from
the last 3 episodes of season 1 (23.33)
Darla Also improved
greatly on last year, rising from 18th, to 5th. Resurrection certainly helped
her cause, as did a gold medal in the episode Darla(90), a Silver in The Trial(67) and Bronze episodes
Dear Boy(53) and Redefinition(34). Other
crossover vampires included Drusilla, Spike, The Master and Harmony. Whilst the Master and Spike left empty
handed, Drusilla picked up her first and only ever medal
(including 15 Buffy episodes), when she picked up a bronze for Reunion(35), and Harmony went one
better with a silver and a phenomenal score of 75 for Disharmony. Willow also crossed
over somewhat quietly for Disharmony and also
appeared silently in There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb. The final Crossover
character was Anne, also known as Chantraelle and Lilly back on Buffy, the former
vampire groupie and homeless teen, managed to pick up her second and third
Silver medals with Blood Money(52) and The Thin Dead
Line(46), meaning that in only four episodes Anne achieved 3
medals and 182 lines.
Lorne finished his first
season in sixth position, and totally surprisingly picked up a gold for Happy
Anniversary(58), and two silver medals for Belonging(64) and Over the
Rainbow(50), with Belonging proving to be his
strongest episode. Lorne’s home dimension of Pylea, also provided the season
with a lot of additional characters such as his cousin Landok, high priest Silas and The Groosalugg. As well as future
regular Fred, though thankfully for me (having to write this) Fred was the only
character to make enough impact to score a medal (a bronze for There's No
Place Like Plrtz Glrb(40))
Lindsey again finished
as the top lawyer, and although no episode rivalled his Gold for Blind Date, he did manage
to pick up a Silver for Dead Ends(70) and a bronze
for Darla(41), Lindsey also
significantly improved on his season one score, more than doubling his number
of episodes and score. Lilah also improved, picking up her first medal,
with a bronze for Blood Money(47), and nearly tripling her onscreen presence. Holland Manners rose 3 places
in the rankings, and managed to increase his total number of lines
significantly, as well as pick up a Silver medal for Reunion(41). Holland’s replacement Nathan Reed made little
impact appearing in only 3 episodes, he has not been seen since Dead End. The final Wolfram and Hart
lawyer Gavin Park, made only a brief cameo appearance in Over the
Rainbow, but would be back for season 3 hoping to improve (unlike Lindsey and poor Holland)
Finally Kate bowed out with
a whimper. Falling from 5th to 9th, and dropping from 288 lines to just 100. She also
failed to pick up a single medal all season, and her highest score was just 28 (for The Thin Dead Line). Several
one-off guest stars did better than Kate, not in the rankings but by winning medals. Judy won silver for
50’s flashback episode Are You Now Or Have You Ever Been(36), and
Telekinetic empowered Bethany Chaulk won silver for
Untouched(73). T’ish Magnev took bronze in Guise Will be
Guise(49), Jeeves won bronze for
the
Trial(41), and scientist Gene Rainy got bronze in Happy Anniversary(33)
