Angel really lost the
plot with this one, not because he misunderstood the game like last week, nor
because he spent much of the game asleep, but because he allowed Wes and Spike
into his dreams, giving them the opportunity to notch up the few additional
lines they needed to beat his score.
Wes and Spike were
already flying high. Wes involving himself heavily in the mechanics of wolfram
and Hart to great effect, whilst Spike utilised Lindsey’s pretence to great
effect, getting one-twos off him before ditching him to snark on random victims
of the week.
However this wasn’t all Angel/Wes/Spike, 3 other characters also exceeded the 40-line result, the first time since Calvary that the game has been so open. Lindsey picked up a 42 by working with both Spike and Eve, which is shockingly his third highest score, whilst Fred and Gunn got a similar score through Angel’s dreams and the W&H mechanics. Lorne also did relatively well with a 15, only one line short of the total number of lines Lorne has picked up in the last 4 games. Perhaps Lorne will finally notice that the dropping a celebrity name, and getting knocked unconscious plan doesn’t even work as well, as scoring lines through Angels dreams.
