It soon became clear
pretty quickly into this game that it would be a two horse race, as soul
vampires methods of dealing with a psychotic slayer were put to the test. In
the end the difference came down to this methodology. Angel was rewarded for
his ivory tower approach, as it left him able to bounce lines off the Ministers
of Grace. Spike’s hitting the streets and bouncing lines off various extras and
Dana herself was working, and Spike had even had the screen time to win it, but
its hard to hold down a conversation with a psychotic slayer when she’s
amputating your hands. Its even harder when she drugs you.
How do you judge
insanity, well in this game look no further than Dana’s plan. Dana had the
screen time and plot to win this, but instead picked up a lowly 24, as she
wasted conversation chances by hacking up potential friends, whilst “Head and
Heart” proved to be an ineffective topic of conversation. Former BtVS player
Andrew crossed over to Angel for the first time, but arrived a little late to do
any better than a bronze.
The other regulars got
few opportunities in this game, they were largely confined to wolfram and Hart,
dependent primarily on Angel for sources of lines, though shockingly for a
change Lorne actually came up with a plan for the game beyond getting knocked
out and actually left the office for the first time since Halloween. This
allowed him to pick up 9 minutes 30 seconds of screen time, his second highest
of the season, but shockingly he still only picked up a mere 10 lines. Another
tip for Lorne, mentioning you know George Lucas to Andrew could have doubled
your score here. Poor Lorne, he never gets his tactics right.
