Unleashed was old school, woman in peril, Angel the series, and it was no surprise that yet again Angel came out on top, returning to his season one tactic of “we have to save her”, which in fact was more of an attempt to increase the dialogue of the random woman of the week, at the expense of his more regular rivals. Angel played this tactic well, minimising most of the other characters, at the expense of Nina. Who herself seized on this fortuitous opportunity to grab a bronze and 60 lines, in what may prove to be her only episode. Angel himself scored 93 lines, which means if he picks up 68 lines or more in the next game, Home through to Hellbound will be Angel’s most talkative 5 episode streak ever!, given Angel’s form at the minute, it’s a distinct possibility.

Angel’s we have to save this woman may have minimised most of the other characters from the plot, but it couldn’t stop Fred, who with Craft & Fain writing this episode, was effectively playing on home soil with a 50mph prevailing wind aiding her. Fred took a 78, in part through her attempts with Nina, but also by dealing with Spike in this game, though for the most part it wasn’t any tactics on Fred’s part that achieved this feat, just the natural advantage of playing in a Craft&Fain game. The 78 means that this episode is Fred’s joint fourth highest scoring episode, out of all her 51 episodes, two of the other episodes in which Fred did better than this, were Craft and Fain.

The rest of the other regulars, failed to perform well. Wes got a pen, which whilst being the most interesting thing to happen to him all season, wasn’t going to cut it as a line-grabbing tactic. Gunn went with the flow, and took as many lines as possible from the actual plot, Lorne did similarly but faired less well, whilst Spike ignored the plot entirely and continued on with his own problems. Spike’s 28 lines, did at least see him overtake Holland Manners, to become the 18th most talkative Angel character.
