HONORS OF OSIJEK-BARANJA COUNTY
For the sake of granting public recognition for notable achievements and contributions
of utmost importance for the development and reputation of Osijek-Baranja
County as well as for the actuation of activities directed thereto, the
County confers public honors established by its 1995 Resolution.
 The
Osijek-Baranja County Flag and Coat of Arms Honor is conferred on statesmen
and other distinguished and respectable individuals who, through an
activity of their own and achievements of paramount significance to the
establishment and development of the Republic of Croatia, i.e., by virtue
of their work that represents an outstanding contribution to the Croatian
and global cultural and civilizational heritage, have marked the time they
have been active in and have remarkably contributed to overall progress and
promotion of County's position and respectability.
The Osijek-Baranja
County Golden Coat of Arms Honor is conferred on domestic and foreign
nationals, foreign and international organizations, local-government
organizations and units and juridical persons from the territory of the
Republic of Croatia that have made a major contribution toward the
development of County's relations and cooperation with other local
self-government units and authorities and foreign and international
organizations, thus having made also a major contribution to the
international relations of the Republic of Croatia, that have made a major
contribution to reconstruction, development, and County's overall progress,
or that have otherwise notably contributed to the promotion of County's
position and respectability.
The
Osijek-Baranja County Great Seal Honor is conferred to distinguished
and eminent individuals who have, through pronouncedly public-exposed
activities of their own, made a remarkable contribution to the development
of certain activity and County's overall progress, to the reconstruction
and development of war-affected areas, or who have otherwise notably
contributed to the promotion of County's position and respectability for a
longer period.
The Osijek-Baranja
County Life Achievement Award is presented to distinguished individuals
having their careers completely carved out for the sake of their overall
activities of utmost importance for the development of certain field, i.e.,
for an achievement representing a major contribution to the development of
certain activity, and for the sake of enduring values of importance for the
County.
The Osijek-Baranja
County Annual Outstanding Achievement Award is presented in the
following fields: economic affairs, science, education, healthcare and social
welfare, cultural affairs, physical education and sports, technical
education.
County's Local
Self-Government Charter is a token of public recognition rendered for a
contribution to the promotion of the idea and practice of local
self-government in the territory of the County.

Charter is a token of public recognition rendered
for a contribution to the environmental protection and safeguard and
improvement of the quality of life for the benefit of present and future
generations in the territory of the County; for a conspicuous activity and
results providing for an overall natural-resource value fosterage,
natural-community biodiversity, and ecological harmony and stability maintenance;
for the animate and inanimate nature-quality conservancy and rational
exploitation of nature and its resources; for the preservation and
rehabilitation of cultural and esthetic values of a landscape; and for an
improvement in the condition of the environment as a main prerequisite for
a healthy and sustainable development.
