Q.Can inquirers who need a declaration of nullity be accepted into the RCIA process?

A.Yes, inquirers are free to enter into the catechumenate. They cannot be accepted for the Rite of Election or the Rite of Calling to Continuing Conversion until the declaration of nullity is granted.

A divorced catechumen or candidate who is not now invalidly remarried not intending to remarry does not need a declaration of nullity to be accepted for the Rite of Election or the Rite of Calling to Continuing Conversion.
