FACES Awards Over $93,000 in
Tuition Grants and Scholarships for 2005-06
Through the generous stewardship of foundations, parishioners, grandparents, and friends, FACES, the Fond du Lac Area Catholic Education System, has awarded over $93,000 in tuition grants and scholarships to over 130 students in Grades Preschool – 12 for the 2005-06 school year.
FACES theme and prayer focus for this school year come directly from the Mission Statement: “We Embrace Diversity…” The Body of Christ is made up of diverse people, not just racial diversity, but diversity in its full meaning. As parishes and parish schools become more diverse, the community of Fond du Lac is also becoming more diverse. As a Catholic Community, following not only the FACES Mission Statement, but the very example of the Lord, FACES must be open to the stages of relating to diversity. These stages of tolerance, acceptance, respect, and then celebration can strengthen our parish life, the life of the school, and the life of the greater community.
FACES Tuition Grants and Scholarships for 2005-06:
· Chicago Grant = $36,000
· Holy Family Grant = $14,000
· FACES Endowment Fund = $11,953, including:
*John Dunphy Scholarship
*Frazier Scholarship
*Hutter Family Scholarship
*Sukawaty Scholarship
*Friends of FACES Scholarship
*Sr. Deborah Golias Scholarship
*$4,285 of the total was awarded to FACES students going to St. Mary’s Springs
· FACES Grant in Aid (labels and receipts) = $11,250
· CEO Grant = $8,648
· Kremer Foundation Grant = $7,500
· Mary Callahan Becker Scholarship = $1,758
· St. Vincent de Paul Anonymous Donor = $1,234
· Sr. Viola Memorial Scholarship = $570
· FACES Advisory Committee Scholarship = $250
· Constance Buechel Memorial Scholarship = $250
· Ed Huck Memorial Scholarship = $115
