Like its predecessor, the Skyflyer, the Skyflyer.3 (or S3) is a wingsuit meant for experienced wingsuit flyers. What makes the S3 different, though, is that both the arm and leg wings are slightly longer. The leg wing on the S3 is also noticeably wider than on the Skyflyer, which has a somewhat narrow leg stance. The wider leg stance on the S3 feels more comfortable in flight and it offers greater surface area. The wing profile has also changed. The ribs inside the arm and leg wings of the S3 are smaller to create a flatter wing (less drag). These factors have improved the aerodynamics of the suit making it faster forward and slower vertically than the Skyflyer.
People often ask what horizontal and vertical speeds the S3 can reach. There are so many variables that affect how the suit flies so there is no simple answer. With good flying conditions (no wind or a tail wind aloft), an ideal body type (tall and thin), and the correct body position we estimate that the forward speed on the S3 can be up to 90 mph with vertical speeds as slow as 30 mph.
The initial air inlet on the arm wings has been slightly increased in size for quicker inflation and there is now mesh running down the inside of the suit's arm along the arm zipper. This utilizes the air that flows through the zipper while the suit is in flight, using it to aid in the pressurization of the arm wing.
A wingtip gripper is a standard option specific to the S3. It's a 3 inch long, thin, very lightweight stiffener built in to the end of the arm wing that you can hook your finger tips on for when your wings may be flapping due to loss of pressurization (in times like a dive or a BASE exit.)

Imagine if you could adjust the size of your parachute when you really needed to, in the middle of the flight? Well, you can just do that with PHI. Increase the wing-area when you need to go slow and decrease when you need to go fast. This allows wing to be in the best aerodynamic position in respect your flight and the surface area needed. DOUBLE ACTION QUICK RELEASE
With our new double action cut away zipper you are allowed to free your arms using additional technique. That gives you another chance if you need one. Be smart.
SEMI-RIGID LARGE WINGS
As tested in the windtunnel semi-rigid wings using Mylar in selected ribs gives you that extra performance and keeps the larger wing area in just the correct shape and ideal for the best glide.

NEW MATERIALS
PHI is made of new high-tech Trevira Micro material called Action Mistral. The fabric is made by using membrane technology, it is Teflon protected giving the product better endurance, durability, comfort and 100% wind proof with maximum breathability.
THE ATTENTION TO THE DETAIL
PHI is truly a new design concept paying attention to every detail. Higher collar with ultra comfortable material that protects skyflyers throat during the cold flight is just one example. L.Q.R.S. (Leg Wing Quick Release) and airlocks are standard features of this state-of-the-art wingsuit.
