Q.What preparation is needed to marry in the Catholic Church?

 A.

The church wants your relationship and marriage to be successful and to be a source of happiness and blessing throughout your lives. Therefore, engaged couples will be asked to participate in a two part engaged enrichment process.

First, you and your fiance will need to attend a day or a weekend retreat specifically designed for engaged couples. These days are Saturdays and are held throughout the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. A booklet with dates and registration information is available at your parish or by calling the Adult and Family Ministry office at 769-3442 or 1-800-769-9373, ext. 442 within the Archdiocese of Milwaukee or e-mail kingl@archmil.org

Completion of the FOCCUS inventory with a married couple from your parish is also recommended. Coordinating a time and place for completing the FOCCUS inventory will be done through your parish.

For more information, visit the Marriage and Family Ministry page.
