85. Sid Vicious performing 'My Way'
It was probably the wretched sod's finest moment and came sandwiched between a heroin overdose in New York and his sad death in February 1979. Recorded in Paris for The Great Rock'n'Roll Swindleš movie, the video for Vicious' desecration of the trite MOR classic, as he descended a dazzling showbiz staircase, ironically fulfilled his lust for fame. Sid had indeed always done it his way. He got into the Sex Pistols by means of punk kudos, achieved by assaulting journo Nick Kent with a bicycle chain and possibly blinding a girl at a gig when he lobbed a glass. Violent, self-mutilating, obnoxious, heroin-addicted, Vicious remains the ultimate rock'n'role model for the intellectually underburdened.
