ISTE Institute: Leading with NETS top

Already planning to attend NECC with school colleagues? Then further develop your team's capacity for improving teaching and learning with technology by participating in the ISTE Institute: Leading with NETS. Grounded in ISTE's widely adopted National Educational Technology Standards (NETS), the program includes a well-paced mix of face-to-face sessions as well as online, self-directed, and collaborative activities guided by expert mentors, all starting at NECC in Philadelphia. Cost is $5,400 for a team of four.

The ISTE Institute: Leading with NETS was developed in 2003 with founding support from HP.

Technology can help you assess how well your students are learning. To find out how, join us for a Gallery Walk of more than 15 premier assessment tools. Learn the importance of formative assessment in meeting federal mandates and how technology can help assess learning for K–12 students, practicing teachers, and teacher candidates. Watch demonstrations, try assessment instruments, and gain insight from educators who use new tools in the field to resolve their assessment challenges.

Included in this experience is an interactive discussion with ISTE's CEO and authors of the book, NETS for Students: Resources for Student Assessment. All paid participants will receive a voucher for ISTE's newest publication! Preregistration and an additional fee of $50 are required.

Successful Technology Integration through Teamwork: HP Grants in Action top

Join teams of educators from 40 K–12 schools for a Gallery Walk showcasing the outcomes of projects supported by HP and enriched through online collaboration and mentoring. Teams of five teachers have integrated HP Tablet PCs and digital cameras in teaching and learning over the past year through the HP Technology for Teaching Grant program. Teams of administrators, technology specialists, and teachers have improved their leadership for effective technology integration through participation in the ISTE Institute: Leading with NETS. Exhibits will feature the outcomes of the teams' work, the resources and approaches that they have developed, and the data they have collected and analyzed to drive their improvement.

Administrators and technology coordinators: expand your leadership capabilities while working toward systemic school improvement with technology. You will hear how educational technology leaders develop a road map for achieving school and program goals through integration of ISTE's National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) and how they address goals of the National Education Technology Plan (NETP). All participants receive a copy of ISTE's new Technology Coordinator's Handbook. Preregistration and an additional fee of $50 are required.
