Meet at the Marriott for a multi-activity social event with a little something for everyone—dancing, socializing, the first-ever NECC Student Film Festival, and a Premiere Podcast Event!

The Student Film Festival represents a collaboration between ISTE and public broadcaster WHYY, and will feature Student Voices-themed video shorts specially compiled for this screening. Also featured will be student-created PSAs from the 2004 Kentucky Kids Technology Advocacy video contest. Courtesy of Apple, representatives from three Film Festival teams and the Kentucky Kids awardees will be present to discuss their work with the audience. Seating for the Film Festival is on a first-come basis.

The Dance will feature one of New York City's most party-friendly dance bands, Sound Connection, playing a mix of high-energy dance favorites for your boogie-ing pleasure. Complimentary dessert, hors d'oeuvres, coffee, and no-host beverages will be available.

Premiere Podcast Event
What is podcasting and why should you care? Stick around for the Premiere Podcast Event. This engaging event will showcase the emerging trend of podcasting and its impact on education. Apple Distinguished Educator, Barnaby Wasson from Arizona State University, will be showcasing outstanding examples of educational podcasts along with classroom integration strategies. Come see for yourself how easy it is to use podcasting to impact learning! Since the event is late, food and drinks will be provided ... bring your own iPod to throw into the party mix after the session.

Sign up onsite at the NECC Info Booth Monday 3–4 pm and Tuesday 10–11 am. This event is free to all conference attendees and badged guests. Space is limited and will be on a first-come basis. Each runner/walker will receive refreshments and a commemorative T-shirt following the event. Transportation for the run along Fairmont Parkway will depart from the Convention Center. Buses will begin loading at 6:30 am; the event begins at 7 am. Participants will return to the center by 9 am.

This year's ticketed social features exclusive access to one of Philadelphia's grandest attractions, the National Constitution Center, and starts with an open-air, tour-guided trolley ride through Philadelphia's Center City.

The National Constitution Center features life-size bronze statues of the original signers of the constitution and nearly 20 hours of interactive technology-rich exhibits celebrating the relevance of the Bill of Rights and U.S. Constitution. A 17-minute multimedia theatrical performance "in the round" will be given six times during the evening to ensure that all interested participants can partake.

What makes this evening really special is the addition of TakingITGlobal's Jennifer Corriero, Luke Walker, and an international cast of students who will treat participants to an exclusive 45-minute reporting-out of their 2005 Student Voices study, conducted specially for NECC 2005. The session will run twice in the center's auditorium (from 6:45–7:30pm and 8:30–9:15pm) and be simulcast to the center's grand lobby so that all participants have a chance to view this exciting project! The first 400 people to register for the event will receive a special ticket for auditorium seating. A white paper documenting the project findings will be provided to all event participants.

Food, dessert, beverages, full access to all museum exhibits, and a copy of TakingITGlobal's Student Voices white paper are included in the $42 fee. All attendees, exhibitors, and their registered guests are welcome, but space is limited to the first 1,400. Preregistration and an additional $42 are required. Children accompanied by an adult are admitted for $27/per child. Shuttles/trolleys begin loading at the Pennsylvania Convention Center at 6 pm; participants will be returned directly to their conference hotels beginning at 9:15 pm.

Children will spend time learning about deep sea creatures and experimenting with pressure, density, and related topics covered by the Franklin Institute's traveling exhibit, Monsters of the Deep. Kids can spend time exploring other exhibits as well. Daily camp price includes transportation to and from the Institute, lunch, and snacks. Availability is limited.
