     Eleven Men Ordained Deacons June 8
 
  Eleven men were ordained deacons Saturday, June 8, at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 802 N. Jackson St., Milwaukee. The Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Robert F. Morneau, auxiliary bishop in the Diocese of Green Bay.

Deacons are ordained to serve the community in charity and justice. Among the principal liturgical tasks of permanent deacons are: assisting bishops and priests at the Eucharist, making intercessions or offering petitions for the people, presiding in the absence of a bishop or priest at certain liturgical celebrations, administering baptism and officiating at marriages and funeral services, proclaiming and preaching the word of God, and blessing objects and persons within liturgical celebrations. Each of the men completed four years of formation at Saint Francis Seminary.

The 11 men who will be ordained, their hometowns and their assigned parishes are:

Roberto Fuentes - Racine - Cristo Rey Parish, Racine
William Goulding - Greendale - St. Mary Parish, Hales Corners
Willis Heideman - Mayville - St. Mary Parish, Mayville
Troy Major - Milwaukee - St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Milwaukee
Anthony Monfre - Mequon - St. James Parish, Mequon
Aristeo Ortiz - Waukesha - St. Joseph Parish, Waukesha
Luis Peņa - Waukesha - St. Joseph Parish, Waukesha
Eugenio Ramirez-Murphy - Milwaukee - St. Casimir Parish, Milwaukee
John Stodola - Oak Creek - Nativity of the Lord Parish, Cudahy
