     Saint Francis Seminary Alumnus Named Auxiliary Bishop in Nicaragua
 
  Rev. David Zywiec, OFM Cap, a 1974 graduate of Saint Francis Seminary, was recently named an auxiliary bishop in Nicaragua.

Rev. Zywiec expects to serve the northern Atlantic coast of Nicaragua where he worked an associate pastor in Puerto Cabesas from 1988-90. Rev. Zywiec has worked for more than 25 years throughout Central America.

Rev. Zywiec was born in East Chicago, Ill., and entered the Capuchin Order in Huntington, Ind., in 1965. He graduated high school from St. Lawrence Seminary in Mt. Calvary, Wis. Rev. Zywiec received a bachelor degree in philosophy from St. Joseph College in Rensselaer, Ind. In 1974, he received a theology degree from Saint Francis Seminary. He was ordained on June 1, 1974.
