United States Catholic Mission Assocation (USCMA)

From October 23 to 26, the United States Catholic Mission Association (USCMA) will hold in Milwaukee its annual conference, entitled Our Mission of Solidarity in a Globalized World. The title gives a glimpse into the wealth this opportunity offers to people in Southeastern Wisconsin. All are welcome to participate for one or more days at a special local participant rate of $100 for the whole conference or $50 for Saturday only. For more information see USCMA's web site: http://www.uscatholicmission.org/ac-c-nex.htm

Of special interest to those with twinning/partnering relationships with parishes/organizations in other countries, is a workshop called Faith Communities in Global Partnerships. Last summer Maryknoll sponsored a program studying the theological, spiritual and theoretical framework for nurturing global partnerships. Some members of this Archdiocese of Milwaukee participated along with representatives from their twinning parish. They along with Dr. Anne Reissner (a former faculty member of our St. Francis Seminary and now director of the Center for Mission and Research and Study at Maryknoll) will share the results of the experience during this workshop.

The 90-minute workshop will be offered twice on Saturday, at 10:30 am and at 2:00 pm. If any one is interested in attending ONLY this workshop, the cost will be $5.00. Registrations for this one workshop will be taken through the World Mission Office (414) 769-3406. Carol Dain or Soila Reynosa will take the name(s) of those who are only participating in this one workshop. Payment will be made at the door of the workshop.

All other workshop registrations must be made through the USCMA national office: http://www.uscatholicmission.org/ac-c-a03r.htm
