Religious Leaders Announce Major Interreligious Initiative for Peace in the Middle East

On December 2nd, Bishop Wilton Gregory, Cardinal William H. Keeler, and Cardinal Theodore E. McCarrick joined 30 other prominent Jewish, Christian and Muslim religious leaders in announcing a new collaborative effort to mobilize broad public support for active and determined U.S. Leadership in pursuit of peace among Israel, the Palestinians and Arab states.

This interreligious initiative is especially timely given the evidence of public support among Israelis and Palestinians for civil society peace initiatives such as the December 1st Geneva accords.
