Vocation Focus Day: Thinking Outside of the Box

Saint Francis Seminary and the Vocations Office invite high school upperclassmen and college men thinking about the possibility of priesthood to a focus day on Saturday, June 23, on the seminary campus, 3257 S. Lake Drive, St. Francis.

Fr. Tony Zimmer, former high school chaplain and now pastor at St. Charles Borromeo Parish, will set the theme for a full roster of group and individual activities as he talks about "Thinking Outside of the Box."

Participating in activities with peers who have thought about priesthood at some level offers an opportunity to share hopes, concerns, and questions. Fr. Bob Stiefvater, Fr. Mike Erwin, and Fr. Tim Kitzke will facilitate a variety of dynamics to break open some of the concepts of diocesan priesthood and offer concrete methods of discernment.

The Most Reverend Richard J. Sklba, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, will preside at a 5:00 p.m. Mass at Saint Francis Seminary to conclude the focus day.

"This event is made-to-order for young men who have questions about how to know if they are called to priesthood, the challenges and rewards of being a priest, and the inherent growth that takes place in the process of discernment," said Fr. Tim Kitzke.

There is no fee for the focus day, which includes lunch and a continental breakfast during sign-in. Advance registration is required. For information and a registration form, contact Joan Sobczak in the Vocations Office, jsobczak@sfs.edu or (414) 747-6437.
