Dallas Willard

DALLAS WILLARD
is one of today's most insightful spiritual teachers, and the author of "The Divine Conspiracy", "Renovation of the Heart" and several other books. Dallas presents a way of living that helps ordinary people enjoy a fulfilling spiritual life. He says that all of us are constantly being spiritually formed, for better or for worse. Furthermore, our souls and hearts are being “shaped” whether we want them to be or not. He reveals how the practice of “spiritual disciplines" affirms life to the fullest and is the key to self-transformation.

As a theologian and scholar, Dallas has long been an eloquent voice for the relevance of God in our daily lives. His groundbreaking books "Hearing God" and "The Spirit of the Disciplines" changed the way thousands of people experience their faith. He is a professor at the University of Southern California's School of Philosophy, and has held visiting appointments at UCLA and the University of Colorado. Dallas lives in Southern California.

John Ortberg

JOHN ORTBERG is passionate about spiritual formation, and how people can become more Christ-like through “spiritual practices.” John presents age-old wisdom about these practices in a witty, practical and deeply insightful manner. He makes his subject easy to understand, and says that everyone has a God-given potential for change. With transparency and honesty, he creates a hunger for transformation and paints a brilliantly attractive picture of the life God can live through us.

John is the author of several books including "The Life You've Always Wanted: Spiritual Growth for Ordinary People" and "God Is Closer Than You Think: If God Is Always with Us, Why Is He So Hard to Find?" He is the teaching pastor at Menlo Park Presbyterian Church in California, and received his Master of Divinity degree and doctorate in clinical psychology from Fuller Seminary.

John Burke

JOHN BURKE
asks the question, “What do a Buddhist, a biker couple, a gay rights activist, a transient, a high-tech engineer, a Muslim, a twenty-something single mom, a Jew, an unmarried couple living together, and an atheist all have in common?” and then answers it, “They are the future church in America!” John believes that God is doing what he’s done in every generation: constructing his church out of imperfect people, often in seemingly hopeless situations. He says the emerging church is an indigenous church, rising up out of the surrounding community and culture to form the Body of Christ.
John is the visionary leader and founder of Gateway Community Church in Austin, Texas where he works tirelessly to build the type of community and church that will pave a path forward for believers and seekers alike. John is the author of “No Perfect People Allowed: Creating A COME AS YOU ARE Culture in the Church.”

TONY JONES
is a leader of, and major force within, what is called the Emerging Church or Emergent Church. More simply, it is sometimes called new or re-forming Christianity. While serving as a youth minister, Tony saw a generation of young people who yearned for the passion and clarity of the first-century church. Increasingly, they wanted to bring the teachings and spiritual practices of this ancient church into the present.

Now as an academic and doctoral candidate at Princeton Theological Seminary and as National Coordinator for Emergent US, Tony sifts through texts from intervening centuries to find those early practices that formed Christ's followers. He says these practices will form the “ancient-future” of the emerging church that more and more of us hope to find. Tony has written several books including "Soul Shaper" and "The Sacred Way: Spiritual Practices for Everyday Life."

KEN LAMONT
is a youth and family-life pastor who is exploring the intersection of the modern and emergent church movements in his teaching and ministry. Ken comes from a family that consciously practices the ancient principle of giving and receiving, and intuitively understands its impact on people's daily lives. Ken will help us explore interweaving this principle into the mundane tasks of life. He’ll also show how the principle of giving and receiving applies to our ultimate life's purpose – our relationship to God.

Ken received his doctorate in Family Ministries from Fuller Seminary. He teaches and leads a vibrant family-life and youth ministry at Newbury Park First Christian Church, in Southern California. Ken is also an adjunct professor of youth ministry at Hope International University in Fullerton California.
