Statement of Retired Archbishop Rembert G. Weakland, O.S.B. on the Appointment of Bishop Timothy M. Dolan as Archbishop of Milwaukee

It is a distinct pleasure for me to welcome Bishop Timothy Dolan to the Archdiocese of Milwaukee as its tenth Archbishop-elect and as my successor.
In the name of all of us I express sincere gratitude to the Holy Father for this nomination and to the Archbishop of St. Louis for agreeing to let Bishop Dolan come among us and to serve here
His appointment, as you will all see, is a wise and good choice at this moment of history, and I am most pleased.
I wish him well in every way and offer my personal support and best wishes.
