500 years ago the first enslaved Africans were brought to the Western hemisphere, modern day Haiti and Dominican Republic. To commemorate "Sankofa*" and promote understanding and healing, the Milwaukee Archdiocese African American Ministry Office and the Office for World Mission are co-sponsoring an Easter pilgrimage to Ghana, West Africa. It will take place from March 29 to April 7, 2002. The $2600 fee includes air and ground transportation, sightseeing, guides and entrance fees, housing and most meals.
