Laila Rouass : Hello you lot, welcome to the chat and thanks for logging in and I'm ready for all your questions.
Stimpeh : Hi Laila! Just want to congratulate you on your job so far as Dale, I think you fit in really well with cast :) My question is: where else have I seen you on TV? or is there another series/show we may see you appear in? thanks!
sophie B : Have we seen you on TV before or is this your first TV job?
Laila Rouass : I've done the BBC 2 show called Network East Late and I did Family Affairs for a few months, so that's possibly where you might have seen me.
amir : did you enjoy working on network east? are you glad to be acting instead of presenting?
ALIHA : hey used to watch u present on network east late, what do u preffer better, acting or presenting?
Laila Rouass : I enjoy both, it's great to have the opportunity to do both, I was hoping to do the third series but I just had too much to do here. It was great though I really did like it, but both acting and presenting are great fun.
Bubble : I think you are doing a cracking job, keep up the good work, nice to see an intelligent woman in Hollyoaks!
Jaxx : Did you have to learn how to be a police officer for your part in Hollyoaks?
Laila Rouass chuckles, thanks Bubble
Laila Rouass : No I didn't have to learn how to be a police officer, but my brother is a criminologist so if I don't know how to pronounce something I go to him! So that's where I get all my information from.
sophie B : Is it fun to play a cop???
Laila Rouass : Yeah! Especially her, because she's really tough and she's come in on a really good storyline with the serial killer and everything. So it's definitely fun to play Dale it gives me an excuse to be mean!
jason : how long b4 the killer is caught?
dane : who is the murderer???
Laila Rouass : I can't tell you who the murderer is because I don't know! We still haven't got to that yet, I don't think any of the cast know. Maybe the killer knows though. It's all a bit of a secret really.

sam : Wil you still be around after the killer is unmasked?
Laila Rouass : I don't know about that sam, it depends on what else is going on for the character, that's months away yet though. It's definitely not you though scotty, I can say that!
Paul : Do you know if you start to have a relationship with any of the other cast members
Glederz : so who is dale going to hook up with then - Ben, his old man or OB perhaps?
Murmy : So, Abbys dad or brother, who would you choose?
Holly : R u and Ben gunna get 2getha?
Laila Rouass laughs
Laila Rouass : Well, she's kind of getting close to Ben, that's getting a bit saucier, but I'm not saying anymore than that, you'll have to wait and see.
kirstiegs : How can you concentate when working with sexy ben ????!!

Laila Rouass : I know, all my friends ask me that! It's difficult but I do it because I'm a professional!

Laila Rouass : They are all quite gorgeous aren't they? Well Marcus is gorgeous, who plays Ben, and Matt Littler who plays Max is cute too.

gem : did you find it hard to fit in with the other characters because your only new and they've been there a while?
Laila Rouass : They're lovely, that's the greatest thing about it. They were so welcoming to me, which helped a lot. I live in London so I had to leave my home and so it's nice to know that there's a good support network around you at work.

Laila Rouass : I'm not saying my age! But yes, I am single and actively looking!

Laila Rouass : Oh that's a horrible question! The show is known for gorgeous girls and they're even better looking when you meet them!
Sara : Did you get any blacklash at not being blonde!! Lol
Laila Rouass : No, they were all really excited apparently.
Chittakookar : which do you prefer?? modelling,presenting or acting- u seem very multi-talented- anychance of a music single coming out??
Laila Rouass : I've enjoyed all of them and they are all so different. It uses different parts of you, presenting is totally different from acting - you might think oh it's all TV it's all the same, but it's really not. Acting is good fun because you get to develop the character on a long-term basis.
Paul : if you could write your own little story line what would it be and would it star yourself? (i bet it would! he he )
Laila Rouass : Yes it would star me! The first scene would be Dale Jackson walking into the Davies' and George Clooney sitting at the breakfast table waiting for her. The End.

Leila : Laila, how did you begin your acting career ?
Laila Rouass : Ooh I haven't seen that picture, steve. I went to Drama School. I did a film called City of Dreams which we shot in India for a couple of months so that was my first real job. I was based in Asia for 6 years too and did a few films there.
Amy : How did you get the part of Dale?
Laila Rouass : Just through an audition. It wasn't that long an audition process, like some of the other members of the cast. They short-listed me and a few other girls and then it was just a waiting game. You get used to it after a while though because you go to so many of them.
alice : Laila, i cannot belive you are actually talking 2 us, my name is alice, as you can guess,and i am a huge fan, you have been a great asset to the show and i was just wondering who do you get on with best out of all the cast?
Laila Rouass : Helen who plays Abby - she's an angel. Marcus too, but that's because most of my scenes have been with them so I've been able to build that bond with them. People think it's a young, catty cast but it's not it's really supportive and nice.
mister : George Clooney is far too old for you.
Helen : if you were the killer, who would you bump off next?!
Laila Rouass laughs at mister, no he's not trust me! Oh I don't know Helen! I'd do them all - one by one - the whole cast.
I Love Dale : if you were to stop acting what would you want to do?
Jamie : If you ever stop acting, would you like to be a police woman???
Laila Rouass : I don't think I could do policing, it's just too stressful and demanding. I'd still be in TV I think - whether it was presenting or something else. I can't imagine not acting anyway - that's a scary thought.
Amy : They could get George Clooney in to be the killer!!!! I bet you would like that!!!
Laila Rouass laughs, yes! I could put some handcuffs on him!
Jo : if you could be in a film and you could choose the people that could be innit who would u have in our film?

Laila Rouass : George! And Benecio del Torro and Denzel Washington and Boris Becker! All because I fancy them! Good variety there ;)

Laila Rouass : It's not your normal run of the mill soap - it's fresh and young and glamorous. You get to wear fab clothes and look glam, that's a great part of it.
Rob : Boris Becker? He is a ginger!

Laila Rouass laughs, but I love him!
Lee : Are you recognised more in the street now you are on Hollyoaks?
Laila Rouass : Yeah but I've only been on air for about 3 weeks now, so people still aren't that sure about me yet.
WizKid : I have ginger hair!
honey : what would you like to do after holyoaks? have you thought that far ahead?
Laila Rouass : No I haven't, not at all. You can't. When I went to Asia I wasn't expecting to stay there for 6 years, so you just have to go with the flow.
Nelly : Laila have been offered roles in bollywood or hollywood movies?
Laila Rouass : Well I did a small part in Four Feathers with Heath Ledger and Kate Hudson and I've done an Italian movie. I did a few movies but they're not Bollywood. I did a Chinese film in English too.
Amy : If you were a police Officer what do you think would be the hardest thing to do?? I want to be a police Officer and think it is great when the soaps have young women as role models!!!!
Laila Rouass : Ooh that's a hard one. I think just dealing with the stress and the kinds of things that you see I think that would be quite difficult to take in.
Lee : If you could be a 'fly on the wall', where would you go apart from George Clooney's/Benicio del Toro's/Denz Washington's/Becker's house!!

Laila Rouass : It would have to be a politician’s house, to get all the dirt and find out what's really happening in the world.
zenab : do u like to read novels?
WizKid : What kind of music do you like?
kavsta : How did you get to be so goregous?
Laila Rouass : I love music, my music tastes are all over the place, I grew up with soul and funk but I love Led Zeppelin, the Eagles and I love Justin Timberlake's stuff. So it's very varied. I absolutely love Prince too, he's the best. I like reading autobiographies and some philosophy.
honey : Have u got any advice for a wannabe actress?
Karen_xxx : hi laila, i was wondering if there are any parts going in hollyoaks at the moment!! i am a very good actress.
Laila Rouass : I think it's really tough but it's just about determination. You do have to be a bit hard headed and go knocking on agent's doors. Get a good agent who will send you out to the right auditions.
mel : who is your hero and a person that you see as an inspiration in your life?
Laila Rouass : Mohammed Ali, I love his spirit and dedication to what he believed in. He's just such an above average person.
lollupops : hiya laila have you ever been in any other soaps if not what other soap character would you like to be and why?
Laila Rouass : Hmm, well I did Family Affairs. I like Dale though - she's good at her job and she's hard-nosed so it's fun to play those kinds of characters.
