Championed, fame and fortune were swift to follow
The delightful boys, The Bright Space, were the trend-setting frontiers folk who helped launch the very first
issue of MILC. Way back in the summer of '05 - ah! those days of innocence & hope - when people would laugh at
you if you suggested monkeys could survive in the arctic, ne'er find flourish in a virtual arena, The Bright Space were
just another gaggle of talented youths looking for recognition.
But they're assuredly on their way now - with radio coverage a-go-go and singles released and everything - and, although we may not
be able to actually claim any credit whatsoever, we'd like to wish them well on their way. Here are details of a tour there off on
in support of recent single, She Goes, available through Rough Trade:
May 8th LEEDS Vine
May 9th LEICESTER Charlotte
May 10th LIVERPOOL Korova
May 11th LONDON Water Rats

Rodney P in search of Robin Hood
Miloco favourite Rodney P is due to be swaying the merry men of Nottingham later this month as part of UK Takeover.
Mr P will be co-hosting proceedings, as well as performing alongside the likes of Sway, Kano, Klashnekoff, Jehst, Blade, Professor
Green, Broke N English and more.
Billed as the biggest British hip hop event of the year, 1Xtra will be broadcasting live from Rock City, Nottingham on bank
holiday Monday, 29th May, to celebrate Hip Hop Connections' 200th issue and the Homegrown holiday.
"UK Takeover has become THE annual event on the British hip hop calendar," explains the man himself. "If there's one gig not
to be missed, this is it!"

It's sand down the trousers time...
This May why not head down to sunny Brighton? Everyone else is. In case you hadn't spotted it, Barfly - The Great Escape
is coming to everyone's favourite seedy seaside stomping ground to lay waste to some happy eardrums.
Some rather dry blurb edited for your reading pleasure: "...featuring...insightful interviews...leading figures...worldwide music
industry...by night... festival...export-ready artists...across the globe...10 walk-able venues...comprehensive digital
strategy...widespread coverage...media partners."
See? Anyhoo, that's not important. What is important is that it's 3 days of mega-music mingling with acts like (friends of
Miloco): The Futureheads, Mystery Jets, The Kooks, Archie Bronson Outfit, Foy Vance, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, Howling Bells,
Humanzi, M Craft and the Klaxons. As well as people we love but have yet to lure down, like: Vince Vincent & The Villains,
Richard Hawley, British Sea Power, Tapes N Tapes and The Bees, (and, last but not least, pity- them-if-they're-attempting-
to-communicate-to-the-emergency-services-on-the-phone, 3Hostwomexicansandatinofspanners).

amongst others) as well as 'Tony' the new film by Gerard Johnson, and 'Track' the new feature length documentary from
Johanna St Michaels. These scores will be available on The The's forthcoming Cineola Volume 1 soundtrack album to be released
through Lazarus.

Foy's Anatomy
Those familiar with the medical meanderings of Meredith, Cristina, George, Dr Burke and Chief Webber et al, might
well have found their feet tapping along to some rather nice tunes while wrapped up in the bittersweet tales of
emergency operations, heartbreak and whatnot.
And that's because Miloco favourite Foy Vance has a couple of his tunes secreted about the audio track of Guy's
Anatomy. Specifically the lovely 'Homebird' and 'Gabriel and the Vagabond'.

Alexis on telly
In more TV related news, the delectable Ms Strum has had a Miloco-mixed tune chosen as the new theme for an ITV show.
The track Go My Own Way was mixed in our Neve VR Room by the legendary Yoad Nevo in April 06, and is now happily attached to the
drama Vital Signs. So if you're the sort to tune into commercial stations that rhyme with 'mighty bee' at approximately 9pm on
Thursdays, you might just catch a bar or two.
