Abstract: This booklet highlights the activities of the Ford Foundation office for Eastern Africa in Nairobi. Opened in 1962, the office focuses its work in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. The foundation’s longstanding presence in the region is characterized by tackling root causes of problems and working directly with those affected to find solutions. The office makes grants in the areas of Education and Sexuality, Environment and Development, Governance and Civil Society, Human Rights and Social Justice and Media, Arts and Culture.
