OK, this is now beyond “why haven’t you gotten a MacArthur genius grant yet”. This is now at the point where we should copy the Keyboard Kommandos series onto gold-plated CDs and bury the CDs in carefully prepared sites dug into bedrock, so that we ensure that they will survive even if only as the last remnant of our civilization.

How young do you have to be to not know who John Belushi is? Just wond’rin. Think I’ll watch ‘1941′ again.
September 29th, 2006 at 11:30 pm
How do The Editors do it?
That blew my mind, HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!!

Rich, I think you mean it needs to go off into space on a deep space probe, so that the galaxy’s nether regions may tingle with the Keyboard Kommandonal sensation.
Capt. Trollypants says: “like a suppository for the universe?”
SHUT UP CAPT. TROLLYPANTS!!!!!!!!!
Capt. Trollypants says: “you mean like a House Page?”
I SAID SHUT IT!

“This is now at the point where we should copy the Keyboard Kommandos series onto gold-plated CDs…” and have the Angel Moroni give them to an impressionable, enterprising young man from Missouri. If we play our cards right, we’ll eventually have a western state to ourselves and our multiple wives.

Aunti, that didn’t work so well the first time.

I absolutely live for these Poor Man Photoshopped funnies. This is how I’d first discovered the Poor Man. These Keyboard Kommando comix are on a par with the work of the Dood Abides… which is saying something. Keep up the good work.
Until I post my truly excellent Assclowns of the Week this weekend, I have nothing to offer as yet but Maureen Dowd’s take on Borat’s invasion of the White House.

Oh god, you made Broder look like that creepy midget guy from The Island of Dr Moreau.
September 30th, 2006 at 6:52 am
Fucking. Brilliant.
September 30th, 2006 at 7:00 am
In times like these, not only did this make me laugh my fat fucking vituperative ass off…it also made me cry, because this is the world we live in.
September 30th, 2006 at 7:04 am
You are the adorable one(s).
September 30th, 2006 at 7:30 am
Yeah - trot out any transgender theme and it’s both funny and an insult. Creaky as effin hell.
September 30th, 2006 at 7:33 am
Next time more chiaroscuro, less neoclassicism, and remember for christ’s sake that if it’s not Baroque don’t fix it.
September 30th, 2006 at 7:52 am
I have the Keyboard Commander series tattooed all over my body.
And I saved a special place for an episode as good as this one.
September 30th, 2006 at 9:56 am
once, years ago, i thought of broder as the voice of the reasonable middle - but that was before i began frequenting the blogosphere -
who knows if it’s good or bad?
September 30th, 2006 at 10:07 am
Exquisite.
September 30th, 2006 at 10:54 am
Well, that was quite SHRILL. And vituperative. And foul-mouthed, too! *fans self*
September 30th, 2006 at 11:14 am
You have violated our intellectual property rights by reproducing our characters for your filthy outburst. You will be hearing from our lawyers.

Jeebus! I bow down and worship even unto thee!
Fuckin’ genius!
September 30th, 2006 at 12:25 pm
…transgender theme…
What? Where? I have been both dense and confused today so perhaps I misunderstood the strip, but I believe the joke [1] is that bloggers who support torture ironically act like fainty Southern belles when they encounter foul language on Teh Intarnetz. I don’t believe the dresses were the insult here. BUT HAY I CULD BE RONG.
[1] You must understand, I’m really not the right person to be explaining the joke.
September 30th, 2006 at 1:22 pm
Actually, it’s about how commentators, both online and in print, value membership in a fictitious “sensible” community over all else, including morals and credibility.
And it’s absolutely hilarious, Editors. Definitely worth several ponies. Possibly even a multiplicity.
September 30th, 2006 at 3:08 pm
As always, absolutely dead-on perfect–thank you!!!
Um…did someone say, “collect these and publish them in a softcover format?”
…Oh, that was me…

Le Bomb!
September 30th, 2006 at 5:55 pm
Someone help me out. In the fairy tale, when the people see that the Emporer has no clothes, do they all also remove all their clothes, rather than point out that the Emporer is buck naked?
Somehow, I don’t remember the story that way.
And yet, as the Editors have illustrated here, that seems to be what happened.

The delicate, offendable center indeed, exquisitely parodied.
(I don’t think “offendable” is a word, eh?)

The delicate, offendable center indeed, exquisitely parodied.
And it leaves you feeling fresh and minty, all night long! You simply must try all the KK Comics, for continued minty freshness.

Well, it is now.
