     Clean Clothes Campaign

The Archdiocese of Milwaukee Office for World Mission and Office for Schools, Child and Youth Ministry invite parents, children and educators at Catholic schools in southeastern Wisconsin to participate in the Clean Clothes Campaign.

The goal of the campaign is to force companies to improve employee working conditions at factories around the world. It focuses on providing parents, children and educators with a greater understanding of sweatshops, and how they can positively affect them. The campaign encourages them to make moral decisions based on Catholic social teaching, which instructs Catholics to address unjust aspects of globalization. Educators will incorporate this teaching into the curriculum for the next school year.

The Archdioceses of Newark, Albany, Chicago, San Francisco also have similar anti-sweatshop campaigns. School districts and cities in the U.S. have also passed anti-sweatshop policies, including the city of Milwaukee and Milwaukee Public Schools.
