Archdiocesan Tsunami Relief Donations Top $1.5 Million - UPDATED JUNE 15, 2005

February 23, 2005 MILWAUKEE – Donations to the Archdiocese of Milwaukee for tsunami relief efforts have surpassed $1.5 million. As of June 15, the Archdiocese of Milwaukee had received $1,588,320.26. This money will be sent to Catholic Relief Services, the United States Bishops' international relief agency.

"I am so thankful for the generous response of the people of southeastern Wisconsin and the abundance of ways they have so creatively reached out to the ravaged people of southern Asia," said Milwaukee Archbishop Timothy M. Dolan. "This shows that God can bring light out of darkness. That is what is happening now: the world is in solidarity in pulling together to soothe, heal, rebuild, console, and support the hundreds of thousands whose lives have been shattered by this disaster."
