  contact: Kathleen Hohl, (414) 769-3494

The Archdiocese of Milwaukee will host the 2005 Pallium Lecture Series this spring. In 2003, Milwaukee Archbishop Timothy M. Dolan introduced the Pallium Lecture Series as an opportunity for members of the Catholic community of southeastern Wisconsin to learn from national and international experts on a variety of topics that are pertinent to Catholic life in today's world. Each of this year's Lectures focuses on the theme "Forty Years After Vatican Council II" the event that renewed the teaching and practice of the Catholic Church.

Each lecture will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Archbishop Cousins Catholic Center, 3501 S. Lake Dr., with a prayer service, followed by the lecture, a question and answer session, and a reception. The Pallium Lecture Series is free and open to the public.

Francis Cardinal George, O.M.I., Archbishop of Chicago, opens the 2005 Pallium Lecture Series with "Forty Years After Vatican Council II: Theology and Church" on Tuesday, April 5. Exposition of the Eucharist will begin at 6 p.m.

Rev. Richard John Neuhaus continues the series on Thursday, May 12, with "Forty Years After Vatican Council II: Ecumenism." Rev. Neuhaus is editor-in-chief of The Institute on Religion and Public Life's First Things: A Monthly Journal of Religion, Culture, and Public Life.

Helen Alvare, associate law professor at The Catholic University of America, concludes the Series with "Forty Years After Vatican Council II: Marriage, Family, and Life Issues" on Thursday, June 2. Exposition of the Eucharist will begin at 6 p.m.
