Bishops to Celebrate Holy Week throughout the Archdiocese
 
  Milwaukee — Parishes throughout the 10 counties of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee will celebrate Holy Week beginning Sunday, April 1. A list of parish activities throughout the archdiocese, including penance services, Stations of the Cross, food blessings and Easter Masses is available below in PDF format.

During Holy Week, Roman Catholics celebrate the mysteries of salvation accomplished by Christ in the last days of his life on earth. Holy Week begins on Palm Sunday, April 1, which observes Christ's entry into Jerusalem with the proclamation of his passion. Holy Week culminates with the celebration of the Easter Triduum, celebrated from Holy Thursday evening through evening prayer on Easter Sunday, Sunday, April 8.

Archbishop Timothy M. Dolan and Auxiliary Bishop Richard J. Sklba will celebrate Holy Week at a number of parishes. Here are their schedules:

Archbishop Dolan will celebrate Palm Sunday radio Mass at St. John the Evangelist Parish, 812 N. Jackson St., Milwaukee. The Mass can be heard at 8 a.m. on WOKY AM 920 and on Relevant Radio at 100.1 FM and 1550 AM.

Archbishop Dolan will also celebrate Palm Sunday Mass with the children of the Milwaukee County Children's Court Center at 10:30 a.m., 10201 Watertown Plank Rd., Milwaukee.

At the Chrism Mass, Tuesday, April 3, Archbishop Dolan will consecrate the Holy Chrism and bless the Oil of Catechumens and the Oil of the Sick. Bishop Sklba will concelebrate at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Parish at 7:30 p.m. Chrism, a specially perfumed olive oil, is consecrated for use at the sacraments of baptism, confirmation, and holy orders, as well as in the dedication of churches and altars.

Archbishop Dolan will celebrate the Mass of the Lord's Supper on Holy Thursday , April 5, at 7 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Milwaukee. On this evening the Church is drawn into the whole event of Jesus' death and resurrection. The Archbishop will wash feet in remembrance of when Jesus washed the feet of the apostles. Bishop Richard Sklba will be the celebrant and homilist at the Mass of the Lord's Supper at 5 p.m. at Old St. Mary's Parish, 836 N. Broadway, Milwaukee.

On Good Friday, April 6, Archbishop Dolan will celebrate the Lord's Passion, at 12:15 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Parish.

Archbishop Dolan will preside at the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday, April 7, at 8:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Parish. Bishop Richard Sklba will celebrate the Easter Vigil at 8 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Parish, 6060 W. Loomis Rd., Greendale. The Church again keeps vigil, waiting for the resurrection of the Lord, and celebrates the sacraments of Christian initiation.

On Easter Sunday, April 8, Archbishop Dolan will celebrate Mass at 8 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Parish. The Mass can be heard on WOKY AM 920 and on Relevant Radio at 100.1 FM and 1550 AM. Archbishop Dolan will also celebrate Easter Sunday with the parishioners of St. James Parish, 830 County Rd. NN East, Mukwonago at 10:30 a.m.

Bishop Sklba will celebrate Easter Sunday Mass at Old St. Mary's Parish at 9 a.m.
