Series of Events Planned for Young Adults

The Archdiocese of Milwaukee is providing several opportunities for young adults in southeastern Wisconsin to meet other Catholics and reflect on the importance of faith in their daily lives. A wide scope of events will help meet the varied needs of this audience. Opportunities for leadership for ministry with 18 to 35-year-olds are available through an archdiocesan training program in young adult ministry.

The Archdiocese of Milwaukee and the Polish Center of Wisconsin are hosting Rekolekcje, a retreat that provides young adults an opportunity to explore the spiritual legacy of the saints and heroes of Poland. Rekolekcje allows a time for reflection on attendees' ethnic and spiritual heritage, Lenten renewal, and the chance to meet others with similar values.

Rekolekcje will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Polish Center of Wisconsin, 6941 S. 68th St., Franklin. The registration fee is $25. For a registration form, click here.

Young adults will have the opportunity to participate in a Lenten Day of Reflection on Saturday, March 2. The focus of this retreat is the role of forgiveness in a person's daily life. The retreat will emphasize God's forgiveness, forgiving ourselves, and forgiving others.

The registration fee for the event is $20, if received by Feb. 22. The retreat will be held at St. Mary Parish, 1260 Church St., Elm Grove. For a registration form, click here.

The Archdiocese of Milwaukee will send a delegation of young adults to World Youth Day, held in Toronto from July 21-29. Attendees will have the opportunity to gather with 500,000 young adults from more than 150 countries to learn about and celebrate the Catholic faith. The week will be filled with service opportunities, concerts, catechetical sessions, and spiritual renewal events.

The cost of the trip is $500. For a registration form, click here.
