Tuesday September 30 2003, 22:06 Newsflash: New Album News!! The waiting is almost over! It won't be too long before Janet's first video from her new album will be shot. At this moment it is scheduled to be filmed in November/December. Currently Janet is still working in the studio finishing off her latest masterpiece. So far we can reveal to you that she has worked with producers such as Anders Bagge, Arnthor Birgisson, Ritch Harrison and of course non other than Jimmy Jam. As with all of Janet's albums, she will be looking for some new talented dancers to accompany her on her videos and or tours. It looks like Gil will be helping out and looking for new talented dancers! Currently there are audition dates scheduled for early November. Make sure you check out any open call auditions held around that time. We hope to be able to inform you with more specific information about any upcoming auditions soon. Tuesday September 30 2003, 22:05 Janet Receives "Angel of the Year" Award On September 29th Janet was honored with the The Sister Patricia Connor Angel of the Year Award for her contributions to 'A Place Called Home.' The event was a great success for the organization, they raised almost $1Million (nearly 1/2 their annual budget). The students of a Place Called Home performed a special ceremony for Janet with a performance of their music and dance inspired by Janet's music. David Taylor brings us this article from Variety.com which reports that Janet is set to star in ABC's upcoming musical-biopic on Lena Horne. (click link below) Lena Horne rose above racial stereotypes in Hollywood to become the first African American signed to a long-term film studio contract. She then became one of the most popular performers of the 1940s and 1950s. (Back in 1997 Janet won the Soul Train's Lady of Soul - Lena Horne Award For outstanding career achievements in the field of entertainment.) We'll try to find out what the official word is on this.
