Habakkuk
Chapter 2: 2-3

Then the LORD answered me and said: Write down the vision clearly upon the tablets, so that one can read it readily. For the vision still has its time, presses on to fulfillment, and will not disappoint; if it delays, wait for it, it will surely come, it will not be late.

In 2004 the Archdiocese of Milwaukee completed a third five-year cycle of pastoral planning. The implementation of those plans is monitored by the Archdiocesan Planning Commission. To learn more about archdiocesan pastoral plans click on the PLANNING COMMISSION icon below.

In August 2007, Archbishop Dolan appointed Very Rev. James L. Connell as Vicar for Archdiocesan Planning to develop a long-term VISION for the church on the 21st Century. To read more about it, click on the VISION icon below.

VISION: 21ST CENTURY PLANNING

"All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age." (Mt. 28:18-20)

These concluding words of the Gospel according to Matthew present the Church's never-changing mission and call to evangelization. Indeed, every generation of disciples has faced the Lord's challenge within the context of its day and age. We are no different from the disciples of the past.

After more than 15 years and three cycles of archdiocesan planning initiatives, we find ourselves at the dawn of a new millennium in need of a comprehensive plan for Mission and Ministry. VISION: 21st Century will help us articulate a plan for the Church in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and chart our course for the 21st century.
