     Addressing Change With Confidence; Catholic Charities 2005 Lifelong Adult Wellness Conference
 
  Catholic Charities Lifelong Adult Wellness Conference, September 23rd, 2005, is for older adults, caregivers, parish leaders and professional in aging occupations and middle-age adults who want information of preparing for retirement. The theme for this 17th annual conference, Addressing Change With Confidence, will be the topic of the keynote address given by Sr. Mary C. Hopkins O.P.

Older Adults and Middle-Age Adults Preparing for Retirement: If you want information on how to live your later years with joy and competence, our conference will help you in both aspects. Workshops of special interest to you are:

  • Making Successful Changes
  • Making Brain-Healthy Lifestyle Choices
  • Moving in the Right Direction
  • Faith: The Treasure Within

Caregivers: Caregiving can be challenging and fulfilling. Workshops of special interest to you are:

  • Learn How to Care for You as You Care for Others
  • The A, B, C’s of Long Term Care: Choosing How and Where We Will Live Our Lives
  • Anxiety, Depression and Dementia: Using Our Faith in Identifying Problems and Finding Solutions

Parish leaders and nurses: You can become informed on many issues that affect your parish members and will help you help them. Workshops of special interest to you are:

  • Moving Beyond Regret and Losses to a Fuller Life
  • Senior Population Boom: How it Impacts Society and the Church
  • The Health of Mind, Body and Spirit: What Does the Church Have To Do With It?
  • Coping With Changing Neighborhoods, Mergers and Closings

Mark your calendars and call Bill Leon at 414-769-3412 for a registration booklet (will be sent out the middle of July). The conference is held at the Archbishop Cousin’s Catholic Center, 3501 South Lake Drive, St. Francis. The facility is spacious and located across the street from Bayview Park on Lake Michigan. It is easy access from I43/94 via the Howard Avenue exit.
