     Activities Mark Catholic Schools Week Jan. 28-Feb. 3
 
 

More than 33,000 students and 2,800 teachers and staff throughout the Archdiocese of Milwaukee will participate in activities showcasing Catholic school education during Catholic Schools Week, Jan. 28-Feb. 3. Student enrollment in the archdiocese ranks 17th among the Catholic dioceses in the United States.

Numerous activities are planned at elementary and secondary schools throughout the 10-county Archdiocese of Milwaukee. Events will include spirit days, science and art fairs, crazy clothes and hats days, spelling bees, faculty and student athletic events, talent shows, academic and athletic competitions, all-school Masses, alumni recognition events and careers days. Archbishop Timothy Dolan has recorded two radio messages that will run on radio stations throughout the archdiocese.

The Archbishop will also participate in the following activities.

Tuesday, January 30, 10 a.m.
Archbishop Dolan to celebrate Mass for Catholic Schools of City of Fond du Lac, St. Mary’s Springs High School with area grade schools attending.

Thursday, February 1, 6-9 p.m.
Archbishop Dolan to deliver keynote address during the second annual Archbishop’s Scholarship Dinner.

Catholic Schools Week, a nationwide event, recognizes the educational excellence provided by the nation’s 7,700 Catholic elementary and secondary schools. Nearly 2.4 million students attend Catholic schools in the United States. On average, American Catholics have had about eight years of education in Catholic schools. Half have attended Catholic elementary schools and about three in 10 have attended a Catholic high school.
