Wow! Has this been a strange week, or what?

It is challenging to adapt a full week schedule into a day here and a day there, but we’ll get there! Today was a much better day, overall, than Tuesday. The students were far more focused and successful. Tomorrow should be even better. Granted – of course – if we don’t have another snow day!

Assignments for Tuesday, January 29:

Spelling practice book pages 37 and 38

ChinFace Tells A Story

January 27th, 2008

Okay…this video has pretty much no educational value, but my family and I could not stop laughing.
Here you go…I hope you enjoy it!

Whoa! Weird week!
What with Monday being MLK day and Friday being a teacher inservice day, your students are getting the short end of the calendar this week. Just three days of school!
As you probably know, this is the last week of the 2nd quarter. Friday will be used, largely, for scoring and grading. You can expect your student’s report card next week.

Since it’s an odd week, the assignment list is on the thin side. The only Language Arts assignment is to finish up an amazing “How-To” expository report. It’s due tomorrow (Thursday). I’ve been able to read many of the reports in progress, and have learned some great things!

In science, we’re finishing up the chapter of ecosystems. The test will be tomorrow (Thursday).

In math, business is pretty much as usual. Here are the math assignments for yesterday and today:

Math Student Activity Book pages 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, and 46.

I know that sounds like an awful lot, but several of those pages have only one or two problems each.

The other big story today is that we started the math portion of the Oregon State OAKS Test. We will finish it up next Monday.

Thank you to all of you for your support and encouraging your students to do their very best in school.

I hope to see you tomorrow evening for the Kennedy PTO Family Bingo Night from 6 to 8 in the gym. Mr. Hill and I will be calling numbers once again.
I’m never sure if that is a reason to come to bingo night or a reason to stay away. ;)
