Neighbouring Keperra and Ferny Grove, Upper Kedron is approximately 12 km north west of the Brisbane CBD and offers residents an attractive suburban lifestyle a reasonable distance from the city.


The suburb has only really developed over the last eight years, and acreage property ranging from 2.5 to 10 acres is still available. New homes are available in the Kirralee Gardens Estate in the suburb.


Upper Kedron is popular with young and established families and is made up predominantly of single unit dwellings (houses) with very few unit/townhouse complexes in the area.


The suburb’s schools and shopping facilities are located primarily in neighbouring suburbs. St Andrew’s Primary School and Ferny Grove Primary and Secondary State Schools are approximately 10 minutes away.


Shopping facilities include the Great Western Shopping Centre in Keperra and local shops in Ferny Grove, which are supplemented by Brookside Shopping Centre a bit further away.


The family lifestyle is well catered for with parks providing numerous walkways and, bikeways. Local pools and skate bowls in neighbouring suburbs also promote an outdoor lifestyle.


Public transport is good with regular bus routes and Ferny Grove train station close by. Brisbane City is approximately 30 minutes by car along Samford/Kelvin Grove Road.


According to the 2001 Census there were 1,482 people living in the suburb with a median age of 29. The median individual income was between $500 and $599 per week. Of all occupied private dwellings 72% were either fully owned or being purchased; 25% were being rented.
