Girls only golf

Girls only golf at Victoria Park Golf ComplexSwap the steam iron for a nine iron when you take part in the ladies mid week sessions at Brisbane’s public Victoria Park Golf Complex.

Women of all ages and abilities are welcome to join the Tuesday or Wednesday morning classes to receive advice from a trainee Pro. The sessions include hitting a few holes on the course and a clinic at the driving range.

It doesn’t matter if you’ve never picked up a golf club before, the friendly and casual atmosphere of Victoria Park means you can learn without pressure or the need to take up expensive and exclusive memberships.

Or if you just want to hit a bucket of balls (great for stress relief!) then head to the two tiered driving range which is open every day and night . You can hire clubs and give it a go in any weather.

Caddy Shack cafeFor a fun way to spend time with friends, try out the new putting range. The 18-hole putting range gives you the chance to practice your putting or try it for pure, simple enjoyment and a laugh.

Or, if all that golf leaves you thirsty, head to the Caddy Shack cafe for refreshments. You and your girlfriends can take in the city views and open setting. It’s a good place for mums with children too as there is green grass for little ones to safely run around.

The Victoria Park Golf Complex is owned and operated by Brisbane City Council and is open to the public. It is a green oasis in the busy Kelvin Grove and Herston area. There’s good parking and also a function centre. The green fees (the amount you pay to play a game) are reasonable and you can book a game of 9 or 18 holes by calling the Pro Shop on 07 3252 9891 or visit their website.
