YTV, DISCOVERY KIDS AND TREEHOUSE RING IN SEPTEMBER WITH EXCITING NEW SERIES AND RETURNING FAVOURITES

(July 23, 2007 – Toronto, Canada) September is approaching and Corus kids networks are celebrating the coming school year with a variety of new series like Storm Hawks, Naked Brothers Band and Are We There Yet? As well as, the Canadian premiere of Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Awards and returning favourites like Ruby Gloom, SpongeBob SquarePants and The Backyardigans.

SUMMER-ENDER TO REMEMBER Kick off September with a day filled with fun including the Canadian premiere of Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Awards. From 9 a.m. to midnight on Monday, September 3 YTV is bringing viewers a Labour Day they’ll never forget.
KIDS CHOICE AWARDS – EXCLUSIVE CANADIAN PREMIERE Broadcast in Canada for the first time ever and hosted by heartthrob Justin Timberlake is Nickelodeon’s 20th Kids Choice Awards – a star-studded awards show that recognizes the year’s best talent in TV, film and music – and occasionally slimes its V.I.P guests. This two-hour special airing Monday, September 3 at 6 p.m. features a lineup of music and film superstars including Gwen Stefani, Akon, Beyoncé, Jessica Alba, Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Queen Latifah, Mike Myers, Jamie Lynn Spears, Hilary Duff, Jon Heder, Emma Roberts, Jesse McCartney, Bindi Irwin, Nat and Alex of Naked Brothers Band and Chris Brown.
Leading up to the awards show, viewers can enjoy a day filled with Nickelodeon programming from Jimmy Neutron and SpongeBob SquarePants to Fairly OddParents.
On top of all that excitement, viewers can get acquainted with musician brothers Nat and Alex from Naked Brothers Band as YTV airs The Naked Brothers Band Movie beginning at 4 p.m.
STORM HAWKS – NEW SERIES Five mismatched teens will send anyone who dares to try and clip their wings into a serious tailspin! Armed with high-octane transforming flying motorcycles, these punks are dog-fighting some of the nastiest villains ever to hit the skies. This half-hour Canadian animated series will premiere with a special one-hour episode in its regular timeslot in YTV’s Saturday morning cartoon block, CRUNCH hosted by Ajay Saturday, September 8 at 10 a.m.
NAKED BROTHERS BAND – NEW SERIES Scheduled to hit YTV’s after school block, The Zone hosted by Carlos, this successful Nickelodeon series follows a real-life, preschool-born band chronicling their fame, friendship, temporary break-up and adolescence. The cameras track the charismatic rock stars – led by dreamy, sensitive singer-song writer Nat, 11, and energetic, unabashedly adorable drummer Alex, 8. Catch this new series as it premieres in its regular timeslot Monday, September 10 at 5 p.m.
THE ADRENALINE PROJECT – NEW SERIES From marblemedia, the award-winning Canadian production company, comes the new edge-of-your-seat series The Adrenaline Project. In each gripping episode, five thrill-seeking teens undergo rigorous – and sometimes unusual – physical and mental challenges that prepare them for heart stopping competition. The Adrenaline Project will premiere in its regular timeslot on Saturday, September 29 at 7 p.m.
LEGION OF SUPERHEROES – NEW SERIES It’s the 31st century and the young Legion of Superheroes need help. Traveling back in time, the team brings Superman back to their 31st century world. The one glitch – the Superman they get is not the grown-up Man of Steel but a younger, less perfected teenage superhero. With the help of the young Superman, the group bands together and defends the rights of all free worlds and upholds the laws of the newly formed United Planets. With 13 half-hour episodes, Legion of Superheroes debuts in its regular timeslot Saturday, September 8 at 11 a.m.
DEATH NOTE – NEW SERIES Death Note depicts the story of high school genius Light Yagami. Bored of his life and society in general, Yagami uses a death note dropped by the shinigami (death god) Ryuk in order to purge the world of evil. This new series debuts in Bionix Friday, September 7 at 10 p.m.
WILL & DEWITT – NEW SERIES There seems to be a lot more things that you can't do than things you can do, when you’re a kid. Will, is an everyday kid who wants to do it all. He is able to jump into new situations with a little help from his best friend and cheerleader, Dewitt (who happens to be a frog). Together, Will and Dewitt are ready to make a big splash in the world. Check out this upcoming series beginning Monday,September 17 at 9 a.m.
GET REAL! This September, viewers can enjoy two-hours of back-to-back reality themed programming every Saturday. Beginning Saturday, September 8 every weekend from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. viewers can Get Real! with episodes of The Adrenaline Project, Prank Patrol, Mystery Hunters and Ghost Trackers.

SURPRISE! IT’S EDIBLE! INCREDBILE! – NEW SERIES Hosted by Julie Zwillich this hyperactive cooking show heats up with head-to-head cooking competitions held in a converted boxing ring. Surprise! It's Edible! Incredible! peers into kids' fridges and peeks under their beds for crazy concoctions and creations. The kid culinary stars must compete in disgusting and gut-busting Grosstacles with Mr. Gross (Mike Paterson). This new series premieres on Discovery Kids in its regular timeslot Monday, September 3 at 7 a.m.
THE ZULA PATROL – NEW SERIES Move over George Jetson! The newest space team, The Zula Patrol, has arrived. Stalwart Captain Bula, brainiac Professor Multo, feisty hot-doggin’ space pilot Zeeter, the amazing space pet Gorga, and twin flying companions Wizzy and Wigg are the lovably wacky characters who will take viewers on a roller-coaster ride across the Universe – teaching them critical facts about science and astronomy in the process. The Zula Patrol is scheduled to hit the Discovery Kids airwaves in its regular timeslot this fall beginning Monday, September 3 at 4:30 p.m.
