Paper Chains

Materials needed:
  • Colored Paper
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Markers (optional)
  • Glue (optional)

1.  Ask an adult for help with the scissors and cut a very long strip of paper.  If you want, you can glue strips together to make them longer.
2.  Fold the paper back and forth like an accordion.  The folds should all be the same size and large enough for you to draw your picture on it.
3.  Make sure you hold your paper so that the folds are to the right and left and not on the top or bottom. 
4.  Draw a boy, girl, daisy, animal or star.  Your picture must be large enough to touch both sides.
5.  Ask an adult to help with the scissors and cut out your picture, but be careful not to cut on the places without lines!
6.  Open the paper chain.
7.  Be creative and decorate your chain with extra scraps of paper, markers, crayons or other materials.
