Walking Trail Mix

Ingredients:
  • 2 Cups Tiny Twist Pretzels
  • 1 Cup Roasted Almonds
  • 1 Cup Dried Fruit  (Select your favorite such as cherries, raisins, cranberries,apricots, dates...)
  • 2 Cups Cheerios
  • 1-2 Cups Candy Coated Chocolates (Such as M&M's or Reece's Pieces, these don't melt as easily as uncoated chocolate)
  • 1 Cup Granola

Directions:

1. Wash and dry your hands.

2. Mix all ingredients together in a big bowl.

3. Divid Trail Mix into zipper seal baggies or store in an airtight container.

Measurements don't have to be too precise.  You can add, subtract or substitute ingredients until the Trail Mix suites your tastebuds.

A Great Snack to Pack for the Trails or for the Roads.

Your Own Trail Mix Box

What you need:
  • Empty Cereal Box
  • Plain Brown or White Paper to over boxes
  • Recipe Cards
  • Glue or Tape
  • Markers, Crayons or Colored Pencils
  • Scissors

Directions:

1. Create your own trail mix recipe.

2. Write down your ingredients on a recipe card.

3. Design your box to fit what your trail mix.
(You can design the box based on the name you give your trail mix, what ingredients are in it, is it healthy, gross, funny, you decide and decorate the box.)

4.  If you want make the trail mix, put it in a zipper baggy and store it in your personalized box.

If you have a group of people you can all make up your recipes and share them with each other.   Give prizes for things like funniest, grossest, best tasting, most attractive, most nutritious...
