Registers Under The Communications And Multimedia Act 1998

As provided in Section 81 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission is required to maintain a Register, in both physical and electronic form, of all matters which are required to be registered under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and its subsidiary legislation.

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission currently maintains twenty-five registers in accordance with the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

Registers Under The Digital Signature Act1997

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) took over the role of the Controller of Certification Authorities after the amendment of Digital Signature Act 1997 on 1st November 2001. Under the Act and its subsidiary legislations, there are five matters required to be registered. They are:

1.   Register of Certification Authority Licences (Regulation 18)
2.   Register of Qualified Auditors [Regulation 41(5)]
3.   Register of Recognised Repositories (Regulation 57)
4.   Register of Recognised Date/Time Stamp Services (Regulation 70)
5.   Register of Recognised Foreign Certification Authorities
(Regulation 76)


Similar to Section 81 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, all the registers can be inspected and extracted by public.
