EDENS Cemetery, Tupper's Creek, Kanawha Co., WV |
Yet another cemetery from the holler of my youth and roots, this EDENS Cemetery is definitely off the beaten path. One disappointment, upon finding this cemetery, is that no EDENS resident is listed on any headstone or marker. There are a number of grave sites either totally unmarked or marked only with field stone. A trail frequented by atv's runs right through the middle of the cemetery today. However, it does not appear that vandalism is a problem.
My connection to this cemetery is through GGrandpa Squire Morris Edens. I have not found where he is buried, but his sister Emily is in this cemetery. Emily Edens married Elijah McMillion August 17, 1882. Emily and Elijah are buried side by side in graves marked only with field stone.
