Commerce Minister Masoud Mir-kazemi predicted that Iran's electronic commerce will reach 10,000 billion rials by March.
Speaking to reporters here Wednesday, he added this is while the figure for the past year was 1,000 billion rials.
Necessary grounds for transition from traditional trade have been prepared and it is anticipated that all commercial activities will take place electronically.
By developing e-commerce, merchants will be able to supply their products anywhere and anytime to all the customers, he noted.
Meanwhile, necessary measures have been taken to establish security in the field.
Describing e-commerce as one of the ways for amending the distribution system in the country, Mir-kazemi also said that businessmen should undergo essential training.
Mir-kazemi is accompanying President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on his current visit to Tabriz.
