Conference Report

The Centre for Comparative Genocide Studies is holding its inaugural biennial conference, "Portraits of Christian Asia Minor", at Macquarie University, Building X5B on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th September, 1999.

Papers will be presented on various aspects of the indigenous Christian civilisations of Asia Minor (Hellenic, Armenian and Assyrian) focussing on the early decades of the twentieth century: education, sport, religion, art, popular culture, economy and politics. Papers to be presented are listed below.

There will also be a special forum for all secondary school teachers interested in twentieth century history and religious studies, in which participants will have mutual discussion on problems relating to teaching about this period, teaching materials, and other related issues.
