You have accessed the newest game show exclusive of SuperShow 8000, Lingo. (Thats, L-I-N-G-O). This one season wonder of the the later-mid eighties tested your knowledge about five letter words. Aired under syndication, originally filmed in Vancouver, and recently revived on Game Show Network, this was a word game where you could play along at home and try to figure out the words faster than the contestants.

Lingo was a game show that had you think about the vocabulary that you used everyday, and in many cases, words that you didn't get a chance to use everyday. It also tested ones skills in spelling knowledge, since aside from knowing the what the word was, you had to spell it as well. (Granted, to my knowledge, it didn't have any things like the infamous "Mosquito" blooper on the game show Scrabble, but it was the same idea.)

Lingo, since the end of its run, had a somewhat "cult" following that many people may not have wanted to admit. Mainly because the show could be dull at times. However, it was still a fun show from the eighties that I wanted to highlight. Granted, I disliked Ronald Reagan as president many years ago, but his son Michael was a pretty decent game show host.

With this being the newest game show featured on SuperShow 8000, I could very much use some input and ideas for the section. If you have any suggestions, please email me: xanfan(@)comcast(.)net & let me know!

On this featured show on SuperShow 8000, aside from the typical picture page and rulesheet, you'll also learn about the new version of Lingo on GSN that is currently airing. While this seems like a show that might take a while to get a decent page going for it, I am planning on adding other things to it as the ideas and suggestions get to me. With the little number of episodes of the original run on the trade circuit, it's a little difficult. So please make yourself at home, and please stay tuned. (Tuned. Thats, T-U-N-E-D.)
