2005 Global Marijuana March

Report from Birmingham

Over the past few years Birmingham has had the opportunity of seeing
cannabis people meeting in Cannon Hill Park.  Over the years, though they
have been there on the specified date, they have gone virtually un-
noticed.  2005 will, very likely be much the same.

The word has gone out, as it did last year, on the internet, and a small
group have promised to meet near the MAC restaurant entrance at 1pm on the
22nd May.

A request for this meeting to take place was made by The Healing of
Nations Charity Fund to Birmingham City Council several weeks ago but was
turned down, as it was last year.

Spokes person for the Legalise Cannabis Alliance in the West Midlands,
Colin Preece Said:  “I believe Cannabis hemp is a relatively harmless
herb, God given, to aid humanity in achieving sustainable human and
environmental development and with a bit of hope, it’s global mass
production and processing might reverse the effects of global warming and
global dimming.”

Osborne Douglas, Os to his friends and requester to Birmingham City
Council Said:
“My people have known about Hemp for SHED since 1928.  We just called it
Ganjah for the Healing of Nations.”

When asked if a march would take place, Colin said:  “This meeting is in
recognition of the millions who are marching across the world in there
individual cities for the re-legalisation and utilisation of a plant that
should never have been criminalized almost 80 years ago in the first
place.   That  it went on to be included in the Misuse of drugs act in
1971 went against the Wooton Report.  Dare I say this has something to do
with the UK’s special relationship with the USA?  If our group wish to
take a walk to Victoria Square I think we will.  But if we do not want to
take a walk to Victoria Square”
