2005 Global Marijuana March

Report from Raleigh

The Raleigh GMM began a little after noon on the south lawn of the NC Capitol Building in downtown Raleigh, NC with a performance from Getty followed by speeches from Ken Locke, Tom Hoban, Adam Pyburn, Jeff Badalucco, and several others.  Americans for Safe Access and the North Carolina Cannabis Association had tents with information and representatives.  Wavy Gravy, of Merry Prankster fame, was in attendance and music was provided throughout the day by Doco, Corinne West, Punr, The Know, Syria, Shiloh, Reason to Ignite, Beerwolf, and Wetsuit Francias.

A parade from the NC Capitol past the NC Legislative Building around the Wake Courthouse and back to the Capitol was held from 3pm to 4 pm.  News coverage was provided by the News& Observer and News 14.  In all approximately 300 people were in attendance throughout the day.
