2005 Global Marijuana March

Report from Boone

The 2005 Global Marijuana March was a sucess for the
third year in a row in Boone, NC. The sun was shining
brightly as Blyster was the opening band. They came
out of Salisbury NC. The Next band was Rubicon, they
drove down all the way from Boston Mass. to play for
free to support the cause. By the end of their set we
had a crowd of about 60 people on the front lawn of
The Jones House on King St. in the center of downtown
Boone. The final band to take the stage was local Band
AVOW, which stands for Anarchy Violence, Oppression,
War. After a great 3 hours of music the expected
occurred, and the cops came to shut us down. So we
took to the streets to end the day with our march,
chanting as loud as we could lines such as “DEA go
away” and “1, 2,3 ,4 We don’t want your Ganja War. 5,
6, 7, 8. Open up the prison gates” It was great to be
a part of such an important event and we are
definitely going to do it again next year!
