Eligibility & Notes

  • Each player must be nineteen (19) years of age as of December 31 of the year prior to the Canadian championship and must have a current Competitor Card.
  • Format: 16-team event, modified triple knockout leading to a four team final that will then use the Page Playoff System.
  • Winner advances to the Canadian Men's Curling Championship (Brier).

Rules & Guidelines

  • Teams may be composed of players from any affiliated NSCA club.
  • The "A" Section winner will be seeded first, the "B" Section winner will be seeded second, and the two "C" Section winners will be seeded third and fourth. All teams placed shall be placed in the draw according to their seeding points. Teams, which have an equal number of points, shall be placed by random draw.
  • Each team is entitled to select a coach who possesses a minimum Level 1 or Level 2 CCA Certification, or be registered with the Coaching Association of Canada's Canadian Mental Training Registry. Coach's name must appear on the team's entry form and/or on the official registration at the Championship site.
  • At no time will any person, except a fifth player or certified coach, be allowed into the ice-shed area.
  • A team must inform the Head Official before commencement of play if there is to be a change in the team's personnel.
  • Should a team withdraw from, or be unable to participate in, the Championship Final, the next-qualified team from the Challenge Round will be slotted in the draw in the position of the team that is not participating.
  • In any year, no club may host or co-host Men's Curling Championship play at more than one level.
