Coachella Stops Sprawl, NIN Fans = Marketing Team’s Dream, Aerosmith Pressed for Time

Rage Against The Machine

  • Lots of interesting Coachella news: The three-day event, which will take place April 27-29, has already sold out. The Empire Polo fields, where Coachella takes place, was potentially going to be sold off for a housing development, but the festival’s commitment to the park was enough to delay the invasion of pastel faux-Spanish colonials. And finally, cars carrying four or more people will receive better access both to parking and to the event itself. “It’s crazy it took us eight years to think of that one,” a festival organizer reportedly said. “But less cars going to a show is always good.” Nice.
  • NIN fans are going bonkers trying to keep track of all the clues supposedly being left re: the “bizarre marketing campaign” behind the band’s new album Year Zero, out in April. According to this post, “so much is happening so quickly that your best bet is to keep an eye on the Year Zero forum on ETS, similar threads on the Spiral, and the NIN Wiki.” On it.
  • Aerosmith are trying to find time to record a new album, bassistTom Hamilton claims, but it’s hard. “We’ve got a busy year coming up. After the European tour…we take a short break and then go back into the studio,” Hamilton reportedly wrote. “We haven’t done a new album in a while, and we really feel enthusiastic about showing everybody what’s on our musical mind.”
  • The Hold Steady are reportedly jumping on the Bonnaroo bandwagon and joining the already insanely awesome lineup. Nice.
  • Billboard got their hands on the tracklisting for Wilco’s new album Sky Blue Sky, out May 15. Check it out post-jump.

Here is the track list for “Sky Blue Sky”:

“Either Way”
“You Are My Face”
“Impossible Germany”
“Sky Blue Sky”
“Side With the Seeds”
“Shake It Off”
“Please Be Patient With Me”
“Hate It Here”
“Leave Me (Like You Found Me)”
‘Walken”
“What Light”
“On and On and On”

The Hold Steady isn’t jumping on the bandwagon, they’ve been confiremd for Bonnaroo for over a month now. Way before the initial artist line up. Please check your sources, before you embarass yourself and your magazine any more.
